Your machine components can be prevented from acid corrosion by monitoring the acid and base numbers within lubricants. Acid Number measures the increase in acid content and Base Number measures the remaining alkalinity in the oil sample. The analysis results help to prevent both the premature replacement of the lubricant and overextending oil drain intervals.
